Time Management

                                 Welcome back!
There seems to be a commonly asked question when I speak to people about being in school, having a job and having a placement, and that question is:

How does one balance school work, placement and a job?

Being able to balance school work, placement and a job is not the easiest. Some people may have a very hard time trying to find a happy medium between the three.

As I had mentioned before I am currently at The Barbell Academy coaching a kids CrossFit class for one of my placements. As of this first week of June, I will become an even busier student, this is due to the fact that I have two other placements locked in. My other placements are coaching kids soccer in the Barrie and Orillia area, and working with a personal trainer at the Bracebridge Sportsplex.

Now that I have discussed my workload placement wise, I will move on to telling you about the rest of my workload, schoolwork and my part-time job. I attend school Tuesdays through Fridays having weekly assignments and quizzes in 4 out of 6 classes, which are usually completed the day they are assigned. Now, on average I work 23 hours a week, Monday, Saturday, and Sunday. This takes up a lot of my weekend study time.

So when will I have time for my other two placements with all of that extra work?

Check back later today and I will tell you how I manage my time and create a working balance!

  1. Hey CJ! I totally relate to trying to find time for everything. There is so much to do and I find there are not enough days in the week or hours in a day. You sound like you work a lot as well on top of everything which is so hard, it’s so impressive you do so much! Congratulations on finding another few placements! I’m sure that you’ll do great in them as well and I can’t wait to hear all about them! What will you be doing with the personal trainer in Bracebridge? Are you going to be shadowing her or helping to assess clients? I am very interested in hearing all about it at a later date, I’m sure you’ll have lots to share.

  2. Hi CJ,
You sound super busy! Time management is something I struggle with, I am interested in hearing more about how you make everything work with such a busy schedule. I also work multiple jobs on top of school, and I definitely struggle with getting everything done on time. Its really cool that you have multiple placement opportunities, you are going to learn so much and I'm really look forward to reading your future blog posts!
