Goals

Throughout this blog I will be discussing accomplishments and goals. Throughout this school year I have set multiple goals for myself that connect with school, personal gains and even work. Did I accomplish them all? No, I have multiple goals for myself, some that I accomplished easily and quickly, others I never got close to. That does not mean I stopped trying, I kept going and working on myself and different goals. I even altered goals I did not accomplish the first time so I could know I could accomplish them the second time around. I have heard so many stories where people have set goals and worked hard at trying to accomplish them and have slipped out of routine and end up having to start over. Those who do this then believe they are unable to accomplish that goal at all. Your goals can be as big or as small as you want them to be, but do not sell yourself short because you think its something you are unable to achieve, or is out of your reach. Once you have an idea...
I am not sure if I have previously shared this with you, but I am 2 classes in to coaching kids soccer with the Warrior Athletes organization! I coach 2 classes once a week from 5:00-6:15pm. The first class consists of 6, 2 year old boys. They are all so adorable!  The second class is for 3-4 year olds, this group listens very well and are great to coach!  They are definitely a handful but I am hoping to get the hang of keeping them in line as I continue. The kids move through an obstacle course that teaches them the basic moves to soccer, like dribbling the ball with light kicks, throwing the ball from over their heads instead of from in front of their chest and foot movements and patterns by getting them to weave in between small pylons. Because it has been so hot out l...
It is time to answer some questions!! A couple questions I have been asked throughout my placement are: Overall, how do you like working with the kids? Is it easier to motivate kids compared to adults? What ways have you found to motivate the children to keep moving? Working with kids is a very enjoyable experience! It is not always the best experience though, some of the younger kids require a little bit more attention because they do not always understand what you are asking them to do. They can also be very shy so they want to go back to their parents instead of working with you, some children do not listen as well as others and will run off, this causes a slight chain reaction and the next thing you know your whole class is gone. It really is a task to keep some of them paying attention. To motivate the kids I like to try and use as much imagination as possible, sometimes even being silly helps the kids become more interested. For some of the activities the kids enj...
